Based on this assumption it is possible to change those things perceived as problems in a naturalistic and non-physical way. Hypnotherapy utilizes a natural altered state of relaxation and focus (hypnosis) to gain access to your own inner resources and improve your quality of life, without negative thoughts and limiting beliefs getting in the way. In other words, you allow yourself to change your state of mind for a time, from conscious wakeful awareness where you can chat away happily, to a more focused state of mind where you can relax and comfortably reflect on difficulties or problems in a certain way and make the necessary changes in your own way.

The approach endorsed by UKHA is principally based on the work of two people. The first is the renowned hypnotherapist, the late Milton Erickson, MD, famous for his unique approach to the phenomenon of hypnosis and the sheer volume of research he carried out and published in his lifetime. The developers of NLP, John Grinder and Richard Bandler, closely studied Dr. Erickson's method of hypnotherapy and modelled the methods that made him achieve such outstanding changes in others. Their study of Dr. Erickson's work formed the basis of NLP. The second is Freddy H. Jacquin a hypnotherapist based in the UK who has personally shown thousands of people how they can achieve their goals and free themselves from any limiting beliefs that have held them back. Freddy H Jacquin has built on a unique interpretation of Erickson’s work, NLP and the psychophysiological approach of Ernest Rossi and developed his own style. As the founder and principle trainer of the UK Hypnotherapy Training College his methods continue to evolve.

What is Hypnotherapy?

There are many types of hypnotherapy. A simple definition is it is any therapy that involves the use of the state of hypnosis. In other words it refers to techniques that bypass the conscious mind and use altered mental states to facilitate behavioural, emotional, or attitudinal change, to treat stress, phobias, and therapeutic side effects, and to promote healing.
